Fahus sells gold-plated imitation jewellery. This page explains what that means and what to expect from our pieces and photos.
Imitation jewellery
All Fahus jewellery is gold-plated imitation jewellery. It is not made of real gold or silver and has no resale value as precious metal. You cannot sell or pledge it as gold.
When we use words like one-gram gold look, gold finish or gold-tone, we describe how a piece looks. These words do not mean the piece contains any set amount of gold.
Stones and beads
The AD, CZ, kemp and kundan stones in our jewellery are imitation stones. None of them are real diamonds, rubies, emeralds or other precious gems. Pearl-look and coral-look beads are imitation too.
Colours and photos
We try to show every piece as it really looks. Lighting, camera settings and your screen can still make colours look slightly different.
Pieces of the same design can differ slightly in shade, finish or stone placement. These small differences are normal and are not defects.
Outfits, props and other jewellery in our photos are for styling only. They are not part of your order unless the product page says so.
Plating and wear
Plating wears with time. How long it lasts depends on how often you wear the piece, your skin, the weather and how you store it. Water, sweat, perfume, lotions and chemicals make it fade faster.
Normal fading and wear over time are not manufacturing defects. Our jewellery care guide shows you how to keep your pieces looking good for longer.
Sizes and measurements
All sizes, lengths and weights on our site are approximate and can vary slightly between pieces. Check the measurements on the product page before you order.
Our bangle sizes follow the Indian system explained in our Bangle Size Guide.
Skin and safety
Some people react to metals or plating. If you have sensitive skin, wear a new piece for a short time first, and stop wearing it if you notice itching, redness or swelling.
Keep jewellery away from small children. Small parts can be a choking hazard.
